Common questions
What People Ask Before They Call
What does it cost to talk to you?
Nothing. The evaluation and the call that follows it are free, and we take injury cases on a contingency fee, so there is no upfront fee or cost to you. We are paid a percentage of the recovery, and if we do not recover money for you, you owe us no attorney fee. The specific percentage and how case costs are handled are set out in a written fee agreement that you read and sign before we represent you.
What happens after I finish the evaluation?
A member of our team calls the number you gave us. They will ask you to fill in the parts a form cannot cover, tell you honestly whether you appear to have a claim, and explain your deadline.
Finishing the evaluation does not hire us and does not commit you to anything.
Do I have a case?
That is the question the call answers, and it turns on things a form cannot see: how badly you were hurt, how clear the fault is, and how much insurance actually exists. Most people underestimate the last one.
If you do not have a claim worth bringing, we will tell you that on the first call rather than sign you up.
How much is my case worth?
Honestly, nobody can tell you over the phone. It depends on the severity and permanence of your injuries, your medical expenses and lost income, how clear fault is, your own share of fault, and the single biggest limiter, how much insurance coverage actually exists. A claim worth a million dollars against a driver carrying only a minimum liability policy may only reach the available policies. We look at all of it before we give you a range.
What if the crash was partly my fault?
Answer the question honestly anyway. Fault is rarely all on one side, and what the officer wrote at the scene is not the last word on it. What matters is how the evidence divides responsibility once someone actually works through it. That is worth a free conversation before you decide you have no claim.
I already have a lawyer. Can I still talk to you?
Yes, and the evaluation asks about it so we know where you stand before we call. Changing lawyers is your decision to make at any point, and it does not normally cost you more: the fee is still a share of one recovery.
If you are happy with the lawyer you have, we will say so.
Should I accept the insurance company's first offer?
Talk to a lawyer first. An early offer often arrives before anyone knows whether your injury is permanent, and accepting it typically requires signing a release that ends your claim for good, including for treatment you have not had yet. There is no cost to having us look at the offer before you sign anything.
